I understand autoresponder is not just a tool to send an email in response to another, but a tool to automate sending emails in response to a situation, action or change.
What types of autoresponders can we define or create?
I thought a bit about it, and the truth that a few situations where an autoresponder can be useful to me have happened.
Let·s see some examples:
1) Autoresponder welcome after subscription
This is the most classic, as we usually orient attracting subscribers of our email marketing campaign, based offer something to these potential new subscribers.
For example, if you offer a discount, an ebook, some exclusive content, whatever, how to get this content immediately to the new subscriber is through an autoresponder to send an email containing the reward for the subscription.
Even though there is no reward, it is a way to greet the new subscriber and thank him. In my opinion it is very nice to receive this type of greeting when you subscribe.
Going to the practical serves to confirm the subscription and the subscriber’s knowledge. It is very rare when you subscribe to an e-commerce and do not get anything to confirm this.
2) Educational autoresponder
An autorespondedor educational type is one we use to show the subscriber all the features of our product or service, so you can go from being a subscriber to a customer. This is a series of emails where we show the subscriber the features and benefits of our product or service.
In each email we speak about one point, which is approaching the subscriber to our product or service. It is not necessary to have a very complex or technology product.
Example of autoresponder educational type
3) Autoresponder postpurchase
Once we get the sale or contract, we have not finished with our email marketing. In these cases the best we can do is to use an autoresponder to contact the new buyer, and thus open up new possibilities:
- More sales in the future
- Increase your confidence
- Provide support and better use of the product or service
4) Autoresponder time after the last purchase
Similar to above, but in this case we spend more time, not as immediate shipment after purchase. You can spend a week, a month, etc.
5) Autoresponder to launch a new product or range
Autoresponders do not need to be defined only for new subscribers.
Imagine you develop a new range of products or services, it is a clear example of something that you can take with a marketing campaign email autoresponders.
6) Autoresponder in indicated day (birthdays, etc.)
This is another great classic autoresponders. For example, if we have the birthdate, we use the autoresponder to send this email the same day or a few days before if we want to send a discount or special offer.
7) Autoresponder with notice of action required
An example related to the above, it would be an autoresponder that is sent on a specific date, but because it is necessary for the user to perform a certain action. Perhaps it is necessary for the user to make a payment?
8) warning Autoresponder product available
Another example where an autoresponder can be very useful is if we have a list of users waiting for a product that is not available yet.
9) Autoresponder to recover inactive users
Finally, an example that I found very useful too.
It would be that in which a series of emails prepare, with the intention that a number of inactive users react. Not only inactive regarding the newsletter, perhaps they have not bought our products for a long time and we can send a series of emails to encourage them to buy back.
Including special offers, discounts, free shipping. Worth trying to recover them before they are lost altogether, and for that use an autoresponder can be a success.
This post is simply to state superficially how you can use the autoresponder and to awaken curiosity about this important tool, I suggest you investigate on your own this important issue.
